The international Conference “Accelerating Progress Towards Inclusive Development Through Gender Statistics” was held on July 25-26, 2024, in Georgia
The conference was dedicated to the 105th Anniversary of the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat) and the 25th Anniversary of Collecting Gender Statistics.
Heads of statistics offices of the European Union, candidate countries, Eastern Partnership (EaP) and Central Asian countries and high-level representatives of international organizations participated in the international conference.
Representatives of Georgian government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), scientific circles and international organizations operating in Georgia attended the event as invited guests.
During the seven thematic sessions, conference participants discussed various topics, including Gender Data Governance for efficient decision making, time use surveys, measuring the gender pay gap, results from surveys on violence against women and girls, the gender equality index, improving gender data and other significant topics.
The conference was co-organizers by the National Statistics Office of Georgia and UN Women.
