Tamar Sulukhia
 
Tamar Sulukhia is the director of The International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET) and ISET-Policy Institute since 2019.
Prior to returning to Georgia, she worked for the World Bank in different countries – the Sustainable Development and Infrastructure Program Leader for Turkey in 2016-2019, Sustainable Development Program Leader for Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova in 2010-2015, and Senior Infrastructure Specialist for the Regional Office for the Caucasus in Tbilisi in 2004-2010. Prior to the World Bank, Tamar Sulukhia served as the Minister of Infrastructure and Development of Georgia (2004); as the Head of Local Governance Center of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) in Tbilisi (2002-2004);
Was a Fulbright Scholar at the George Washington University in Washington DC (2001-2002) and Development Assistance Specialist in USAID/Caucasus (1997-2001). In 2000-2004 she served as a consultant for different organizations and funds. Her experience includes being a Board Member and director of several leading Georgian and International NGO’s.
In 2002-2009 she was an invited professor of Urban Development and Governance at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). She is an author of a number of publications on urban planning and governance. Tamara holds Ph.D. in urban planning (1997) from Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi, Georgia.
