Water data management practical training

The European Environment Agency (EEA) water experts hold the 4-day training on Building Capacity for Developing Water Information System for the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia’s Staff on January 15 – 18. The training is important for policy-making and implementation of integrated water resources management.
One of the core goals of the training is to cooperate and share information among the stakeholders. According to the organizers, important, reliable and harmonized data will be shared during the study course that gives an opportunity to assess the current situation in the country and to analyze the quantitative and qualitative data on water resources. According to their statement, the existence of the reliable information will facilitate the implementation of the sustainable and effective policy and the marine and freshwater ecosystems development and management. The training will assist the development of the water component and the dissemination of the environment protection data in the framework of the project funded by the EU.
The project will assist the development of opportunities for the assessment of biodiversity, water, soil, air and environment circumstances and will continue until the end of 2019.
