British expert, Mr. Mike Hughes, was on a 5-day working visit to Geostat in the framework of Cooperation Project between the National Statistics Office of Georgia and Statistics Sweden. 
The British expert worked jointly with the staff of the Geostat on further harmonization of the Law of Georgia on Official Statistics with the international analogues. He introduced the advanced practice of the EU states to the Georgian colleagues. 
The proposals for amendments to the law of Georgia were prepared in line with the Generic Law on Official Statistics developed jointly by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the Geostat. The implementation of the aforementioned provisions will be another step towards the fulfillment of the Association Agenda.
