On 23-27 July, Geostat hosts the study visit of the delegation of the Statistical Agency under President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The aim of the visit is to share the Geostat’s experience with regard to the use of Geographic Information System for the implementation of general population census planned in the Republic of Tajikistan in 2020. 
During the week, Georgian statisticians will share their experiences of the implementation of geographic information systems with Tajik colleagues. They will introduce Geostat's practice in the process of implementing the Geoinformation System and will talk about the related organizational and methodological issues. 
Geostat was one of the first to use digital mapping in the region during the 2014 General Population Census that contributed to the efficient implementation of field work.
