The National Statistics Office of Georgia hosted World Bank experts. The meeting was dedicated to the development of poverty map in Georgia. The meeting was attended by Mr. Paata Shavishvili, Deputy executive director and Geostat’s relevant subject - matter department.
The World Bank Experts introduced the latest statistical models of evaluation poverty level for small territorial units and examples of poverty map by different countries to the National Statistics Office of Georgia. The possibilities of using these models and methodologies were discussed at the meeting.
The National Statistics Office of Georgia actively cooperates with the World Bank concerning to poverty methodology. It should be noted that such kind of meetings will continue in the future.
