International experts’ mission is on a working visit at the National Statistics Office of Georgia this week to assess information technology software and system sustainability and security.
Sectoral assessment of the information technologies is a new initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the first beneficiary of which is Geostat.
UN experts, representatives of the statistical services of different EU countries and independent experts as well are involved in the mission.
In the framework of the mission workshops with both producers of official statistics and statistical information users are scheduled.
Assessment of the information technologies at Geostat by international experts and their recommendations represented for the improvement of IT is ssignificant in terms of the introduction of modern technologies in the production of official statistics in the country and hence the efficient use of resources, development of security systems and improvement of sustainability.
