During a meeting between the Business Association of Georgia (BAG) and the National Statistics Office of Georgia, Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat presented the new methodology of System of National Accounts (SNA 2008) to the representatives of the Association member companies. Mr. Soso Pkhakadze, President, and Mr. Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Association attended the meeting.
From November 15 of this year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia moves to new methodology of System of National Accounts (SNA 2008). GDP and other macroeconomic indicators will be calculated by the updated methodology.
The transition to a new methodology involves changes in terms of improving the quality of the data sources, assessing the size of the unobserved economy, and processing administrative data.
The Executive Director of Geostat also reviewed the main directions of the development of the National Statistics System and presented the Strategy of Statistical System for 2020-2023 to the Business Association of Georgia.
