National Statistics Office of Georgia started the information meetings in the regions. Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat held the first meeting in Mtskheta, with Mr. Shalva Kereselidze, Public Attorney of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region. The meeting was attended by the Mayor of four municipalities of the region and the representatives of local government and Mtkheta-Mtianeti Statistical Bureau.
The meeting aimed to introduce the local government with the future plans of Geostat as well as to identify their needs.
According to Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, use of regional statistical data will help the local government in making the right decisions. Such meetings are important and will ensure awareness of the statistical data users of the issues they are interested in.
Geostat plans to hold consultations with the local governments in all regions, including studying the requirements and needs at regional and municipal level, as well as active dialogue with the representatives of the local government.
