A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. The heads of agencies signed a bilateral document and agreed on future cooperation.
style="text-align: justify;">According to Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, such cooperation is very important and the meetings with participation of thematic group members will facilitate both the production of official statistics and the process of providing necessary and objective statistical information to decision-makers.
The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia also spoke about the importance of cooperation between two agencies. According to Mr. Levan Davitashvili, within its competence, the Ministry will provide Geostat with relevant support to obtain the data from the regions. As stated the Minister, reliable, and exact statistical data are important for the development of the right environmental and agricultural policies.
