The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. The joint document was signed by the heads of the agencies and they agreed on future cooperation.
According to Mr. Gogita Todradze, the Executive Director of GEOSTAT, the memorandum will further strengthen the cooperation between the two agencies and the parties will exchange the necessary information. In particular, according to the document, in case of any interest, GEOSTAT will provide statistical information, surveys and other data to the Ministry.
The Minister of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia also underlined the importance of the signed memorandum.
According to Mr. Ivane Dolidze, joint events and thematic meetings are planned within the framework of cooperation. According to him, whenever required the employees of the Ministry will receive professional consultations and advice from GEOSTAT on useful statistics, processing and other issues.
