"Business and Statistics" - this discipline will be studied by certified accountants in Georgia. The inclusion of the new subject in the 2020 Continuing Education Program was a joint effort of Geostat and the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision (SARAS).
Involvement of short-term statistics course in the Continuing Education of certified accountants is aimed at training accountants as statistical survey respondents and raising their awareness of the role and importance of official statistics, statistical products, services and statistical surveys prepared by Geostat.
The new training course will improve the quality of primary data needed to produce official statistics, and on the other hand will provide the business sector with high quality, reliable and timely information that is important for making evidence-based decisions.
The basis of a new training discipline for accountants was a memorandum between Geostat and the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision.
