Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat participates in the 52nd session of the UN Statistical Commission. The meeting is being held online.
The session of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) is held annually in New York which is attended by the officials from the Statistical Offices of UN Member States and the representatives of international organizations.
It is the highest-level intergovernmental format at the international level, the highest decision-making body for international statistical activities which oversees the work of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).
Georgia was elected as a member of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) last year. Membership mandate includes for the 2020-2023 period.
In the framework of the 52nd session, Gogita Todradze, in addition to Georgia, also represents the ESCAP Committee on Statistics, as the Chairman of the Bureau.
Within the framework of the session, Gogita Todradze participates in various panel discussions, he will address the members of the Commission, brief their foreign counterparts on recent changes in the country's statistical system, existing challenges, as well as future plans and priorities.
