A memorandum of understanding was signed between Geostat and the Legal Aid Service

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the Legal Aid Service. The bilateral document was signed by Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, and Mr. Rajden Kuprashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service, and they agreed on future cooperation.

"Within the framework of the memorandum, Geostat will provide Legal Aid Service with the necessary reliable, objective and detailed statistical information. Also, within the scope of its competence, it will provide relevant consultations to the employees of the service on the use of statistical data, processing and other related issues,” stated Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat. According to him, Geostat undertakes the obligation to consider the challenges facing the Legal Aid Service and to provide it with appropriate information in order to enable Service to effectively exercise its powers. 

"It is very important for the Legal Aid Service to have access to statistical information and get information from Geostat in order to serve our beneficiaries more effectively. The Legal Aid Service should also provide Geostat with the necessary and important information they need,” claimed Mr. Rajden Kuprashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service.

Under the framework of the memorandum, the parties agreed to facilitate the activities of the agencies within their competences, to provide relevant information to each other if necessary, in full compliance with the requirements of the law, and to jointly implement the planned activities and projects.
