Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of National Statistics Office of Georgia participates in the 77th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), which is held online.
The season takes place from April 26 to 29. In addition to Georgia, Mr. Todradze represents the ESCAP Committee on Statistics as the chair.
The meeting is attended by the leaders and high-ranked delegates of Asia and the Pacific countries, as well as the representatives of the UN ESCAP and international organizations. The main theme of this session is cooperation after the crisis caused by the spread of corona virus and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Mr. Gogita Todradze briefed the commission and the participants regarding the Committee on Statistics activities. He spoke about the achievements of the Committee and introduced the important Committee decisions to the participants. During his briefing, he highlighted such priority issues of the official statistics as the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, capacity building of statistical institutions, international cooperation, wider use of big data, further development of gender statistics, production of national accounts, etc.
During the season participants also will discuss the economic and social development issues and outline future plans.
