The National Statistics Office of Georgia has started field information meetings for the users of statistical information.
The first working meeting is held on May 13-14 in Telavi within the framework of the UNDP-funded project - "Strengthening Geostat Infrastructure and Capacity Development".
Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, is chairing the working meetings, attended by the representatives and mayors of Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Kvemo Kartli municipalities.
During the two-day working meeting, the participants will get information about the main directions of the development of the Georgian statistical system, the products developed by Geostat and the development strategy for 2020-2023 as well as the peculiarities of the methodologies for calculating statistical indicators and issues related to their use; Various statistical indicators and data needs in the planning and decision-making process will be discussed as well.
During the meeting the needs of municipalities in relation to statistics will be discussed, which will be reflected in the future plans of Geostat.
The working meetings within the framework of this project will continue on May 15-16, with the participation of representatives of higher education institutions and academic circles.
