The next meeting of the Bureau of the ESCAP Committee on Statistics was held, online today, on June15, 2021.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geosat and the Chair of Committee on Statistics of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
The theme of today’s session was discussion of the big data strategy as well as monitoring and evaluation issues of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Bureau, heads of the national statistical offices in Asia and the Pacific, Secretariat of the ESCAP statistics division as well as the representatives of international and non-government organizations.
It should be mentioned that Mr. Gogita Todradze was elected as the chair of the Bureau of Committee on Statistics of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific for a two-year term on August 26, 2020.
