On December 6-9, Geostat hosts foreign experts’ mission. The aim of the working visit,organized by Eurostat, is the so-called “Sectoral Review” of Price Statistics.
In the framework of the mission, experts will assess the current situation in the field of price statistics, the progress made in recent years, will thoroughly review the methodologies used and evaluate their compliance with international standards. During the mission, working meetings will be held with Geostat management, staff of the Price Statistics Department, members of the Board of Geostat, as well as sources and users of statistical information (public sector, media, scientific circles, etc.).
A detailed review of Price Statistics has not been conducted in Georgia for the last 10 years. Consequently, the outcome is of high importance in assessing Geostat progress in this area. As a result of the review, the findings and recommendations will be prepared by foreign experts, which will be an important guiding document for the further development of Price Statistics.
