A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
The agreement was signed by the Executive Directors of Geostat Mr. Gogita Todradze and the president of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences Mr. Giorgi Kvesitadze.
The memorandum, signed for a period of three years, will facilitate production and exchange of objective statistical information between the parties.
The event was opened by the President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences Mr. Giorgi Kvesitadze. Within the discussion the Rector of the Technical University of Georgia Mr. David Gurgenidze, the academic of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Mr. Lado Papava and the professor of Tbilisi State University Mr. Temur Beridze gave the speeches.
Geostat in accordance with the rules established by the legislation, within the framework of the statistical work program, will provide the Academy with statistical information necessary for developing its goals, as well as with statistical products in the field of its interests- stated Mr Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of National Statistics Office of Georgia.
On the other hand, Georgian National Academy of Sciences ensures participation of the Geostat’ s employees implementation of the scientific-research projects and will facilitate to organize joint meeting and workshops on the main directions.
Within the framework of cooperation, the National Statistics Office of Georgia and Georgian National Academy of Sciences to exchange the ideas, periodically, the joint events are planned.
