The National Statistics office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) is holding a working meeting with the representatives of the government and the local self-authorities of Adjara.
The meeting, which is taking place on September 16-17 in Chakvi, Kobuleti municipality, is being held within the framework of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)- funded project - "Improving the process of data collection and increasing confidence in official statistics".
Mr. Irakli Apkhaidze, the Deputy Executive Director of GEOSTAT, leads an offsite working meeting, in which representatives of the administration of the Adjara government, the Supreme Council, the economic and financial services of all four ministries, and six municipalities have participated.
During the two-day workshop, participants will learn about the main directions of development of the Georgian statistical system, products developed by GEOATAT, developed services, and future plans. Also, they discuss methodological features of statistical indicators calculation and issues related to their use.
Various statistical indicators and data needs are discussed in the planning and decision-making process. During the meeting, a discussion will be held, the participants of the meeting will discuss the needs related to the statistical data of the municipalities and discuss the possibilities of their reflection on the future plans of GEOSTAT.
Within the framework of the above-mentioned project, GEOSTAT will hold five more working meetings with the users of statistical information.
