On November 26-27, the National Statistics Office of Georgia held a seminar for users of gender statistics.
The meeting was held within the framework of the grant agreement - The Making Every Woman and Girl Count - signed between Geostat and the UN Women Georgia, and representatives of the state administration, non-governmental organizations, academic circles and the media took part in it.
During the two-day seminar, the participants were provided with information on the production, dissemination and use of gender statistics data.
The participants also discussed important issues such as GDP, economic growth trends, employment/unemployment and wage statistics. During the two-day seminar, the participants also received comprehensive information on modern technologies of data collection and Geostat's plans in this direction.
According to Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, meetings with users of statistical information are of high important and will help them to be better informed about the current and future developments in Geostat. Therefore, it is planned to hold similar seminars in the future.
