Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia participates in the High-Level Expert Group Meeting on Gender Statistics

Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, Mr. Paata Shavishvili, Deputy Executive Director and Mr. Vasil Tsakadze Head of Social Statistics Department of Geostat are participating in the High-Level Expert Group meeting on Gender Statistics organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, from May 9-12.

 

During the meeting will be discussed the current situation, challenges and future plans in the direction of production of gender statistics in UN member states . The main priority of the meeting is the collection and dissemination of disaggregated data on Gender Statistics, time use survey and the Violence against Women. 

 

The Geostat representatives actively participate in thematic sessions and panel discussions during the meeting organized by the United Nations. Also, they share Georgia’s experience regarding to the production on Gender statistics, modern technologies to collect and disseminate the data in the country, as well as recent development and future plans of the National Statistics Office. 

 

It should be noted that in the framework of the Expert group meeting in order to facilitate and develop bilateral cooperation, the representative of Geostat held the  individual meetings with representatives of international organizations and statistical institutions of different countries.
