Geostat hosted the Expert mission from Eurostat on May 24– 25. The main objective of the visit was to assess the work done by Geostat within the framework of the International Comparison Program (ICP) 2021.
Georgia’s involvement in ICP (International Comparison Program (ICP) 2021) is coordinated by Statistics Finland. During the visit, international experts and representatives of Price Statistics and National Accounts Departments of Geostat will summarize the results of the progress in 2021-2022.
Besides that, improvement of methodological issues related to data analysis are in process as well as the sharing of experience.
More than 200 countries around the world involve in the International Comparison Program (ICP) organized by the World Bank. The aim of the program is to obtain comparison of Gross Domestic Product of the participating countries in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP).
It is very important Georgia’s participation in the International Comparison Program (ICP) in the field of harmonization with EU standards.
