25 July is a day of statistics of Georgia.
Ceremonial event was held regarding the anniversary date. The audience of the event was addressed with an introductory speech by Gogita Todradze – an Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, Mikheil Dundua – a Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, Vakhtang Tsintsadze – a Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mzia Giorgobiani – a Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Levan Vephkhvadze – an Executive Director of Business Association of Georgia.
Gogita Todradze congratulated the audience on the 104th anniversary of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, and presented them accomplishments and future plans of Geostat. He expressed gratitude for fruitful activities of all the employees of the Office.
Successful and highly-qualified employees, outstanding business companies providing information, as well as international and local partner organisations were awarded special certificates of merit at the event.
The invited guests at the ceremony watched the video clip specially produced by Geostat for that date, depicting history and present activity of the Statistics Office.
The first Statistics Office of the country was established on 25 July of 1919. Therefore, the aforementioned date is related to the commencement of official statistics maintenance in Georgia.
