The National Statistics Office of Georgia, with support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Sweden, is launching National Strategy for the Development of Official Statistics (NSDS) 2024-2027 and its implementation plan of 2024-2025 development process.
The strategy and action plan are the National Policy documents, which comprise medium-term and long-term vision and objectives for strengthening statistical capacity across the National Statistical System. One of the major priorities of the strategy is to support the process of evidence-based decision-making and implementation of sustainable development goals (SDG). Besides, development of statistics in gender, regional, sectoral other important areas, and capacity building of the National Statistics System are strategic priorities.
Recently adopted Law of Georgia on Official Statistics and NSDS 2024-2027 are expected to serve as the primary tools for bringing National Statistical System closer to international standards of statistical production in Georgia.
The active involvement of all interested organizations or individuals in the strategy development process is crucial. Therefore, public consultations are planned in the process of the document preparation. These consultations are designed to facilitate extensive public engagement throughout the various stages of strategy formulation. The primary goal is to foster inclusive and participatory decision-making, ensuring that the perspectives shared during the consultations contribute to shaping the strategy's objectives, priorities, and action plan.
The initial public consultation meeting is projected to take place during the second half of September. Individuals who have registered will receive precise details about the date through an official invitation letter. Participation in the consultations is open to both organizations and individuals. If you wish to participate in the public consultation process, kindly register using the provided link by September 10th: https://forms.gle/wfYwMGxys9mSkuqw6 (Work language is Georgian).
We extend our sincere appreciation for your forthcoming cooperation and anticipate your active engagement in this important process.
