Date: 20 October 2023
On October 20, the International Community celebrates the World Statistics Day.
The first World Statistics Day was established on October 20, 2010 by the United Nations General Assembly. The World Statistics Day is celebrated with various events by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the UN regional offices and about 200 national statistics offices of the UN member countries.
Statistics is a mirror for decision-makers. It plays a vital role in planning and monitoring progress. A strong future of official statistics is based on professional independence and public trust. All these priorities still remain fundamental for us. On the World Statistics Day, we would like to express our gratitude to all statisticians and our international partners for their invaluable contributions in the production and dissemination of reliable and timely statistical data. Reliable remains the essential tool for making the right decisions and developing effective policies," stated Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat.
We congratulate all statisticians with the World Statistics Day!
