Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, participates in the international conference organized by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), which is held on January 22-24 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The conference aims to broaden the scope of official statistics production, establish pertinent strategic objectives, and facilitate the exchange of best practices among countries in response to emerging challenges and opportunities. In addition, the purpose of the meeting is to evaluate the potential of incorporating alternative data sources, innovative methods, and modern technologies into the official statistics production process.
Within the conference, Mr. Gogita Todradze actively took part in multiple panel discussions and meetings organized by the UN and international institutions such as the IMF and UNICEF. During his statement, he stressed on the key priority areas for advancing the statistical system in Georgia, highlighting the recent progress and exploring the potential of using the alternative data sources in official statistics.
Approximately 100 representatives from various countries worldwide are attending the conference, including heads of National Statistical Offices of different countries, as well as representatives of international and local organizations.
