Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat met with the students of Georgian Technical University and proposed the employment within the framework of the 2024 Population and Agricultural Census. The meeting was attended by Mr.David Gurgenidze, Rector of Georgian Technical University.
During the meeting with students Mr. Gogita Todradze highlighted the goals and objectives, the date of the census, the methods of data collection, the methodology and the content of the questionnaire.
According to him, after the special training, students have the opportunity to participate in the Population Census process as interviewers. It is set a flexible schedule for the work, with the term of two weeks.
At the meeting, Mr.David Gurgenidze, Rector of Georgian Technical University emphasized the importance of student employment opportunities and expressed university full support in extensive census activities.
The meeting between students and the Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia was informative and took place in a question and answer format.
The Population Census in Georgia will be conducted from November 14 to December 19, however, due to possible deterioration of the weather and difficult meteorological conditions, in some high-mountainous and hard-to-reach administrative units, namely - Mestia, Lentekhi, Kazbegi, in some administrative units of Dusheti (Gudamakari, Kvesheti, Khevsureti, Ukanapshavi,Shatili, Magharoskari and Pasanauri) and Akhmeta municipality ( only in the administrative unit of Omalo), the Population Census will be conducted in the period from September 18 to October 8, 2024.
