Geostat Hosted Students of 207 Public school

Educational excursions for students have been resumed in the National Statistics Office of Georgia. This time the 8-th grader students of the 207 public school visited Geostat.

 

During the excursion, students visited the statistical museum, where the photo materials of the hundred-year history of statistics and computing technic is located. A hundred-year history and general principles of the National Statistics Office of Georgia were introduced to children.

 

Traditionally, Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, introduced "Statistical portal on Children and Youth" which is specially intended for their age group. Mr. Todradze presented interesting and fun statistical facts, completed educational quizzes with children and gifted memorable certificates.

 

As Mr. Gogita Todradze mentioned, the aim of the interactional portal is to provide children and youth with interesting information in a fascinating and funny way. The portal will have a positive effect on deepening knowledge in statistics, improving correctly perceiving information and analytical thinking. The children also be acknowledged about children's rights and be able to make evidence-based decisions.

 

The information regarding demography, education, agriculture and other statistical data was especially interesting for children.

 

Geostat plans to host similar educational activities for children and youth in the future.
