The memorandum was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia And the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria

The memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria in the framework of the fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Bulgaria.
The mutual cooperation in the field of statistics contains various statistical spheres, including acquainting with the statistical legislation of the European Union, processes of production and dissemination of statistics, quality management, etc.
The signed memorandum between Geostat and Statistical Institute of Bulgaria enables parties to develop new projects. The document will also support sharing experience and knowledge in the field of statistics, exchanging experts of specific fields, organizing study visits and trainings and other activities between countries.
According to the Georgian side, the above-mentioned document is an important basis for further strategic cooperation between the offices, in order to increasingly approximate the Georgian statistics to the European norms and standards.
The Georgian Commission was chaired by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dimitry Kumsishvili, while the Bulgarian Commission was chaired by Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications of Bulgaria Ivaylo Moskovski.
