Experts of World Bank visited National Statistics Office of Georgia

Experts of the World Bank, Nistha Sinha and Cesar Cancho, have presented the methodology of calculating absolute poverty on 17 February in National Statistics Office of Georgia. The representatives of various state agencies attended the meeting.
The experts introduced a method of calculating absolute poverty in detail to the staff members of Geostat and guests. According to Meri Daushvili, the Executive Director of Geostat, such kinds of meeting are very important, especially considering the fact, that from 2017 Geostat will start publishing the indicators of absolute poverty.
The participants of the meeting have agreed that it is necessary to conduct such meetings in the mentioned field during the year.
