Swedish experts visited National Statistics Office of Georgia

Two missions of Swedish statisticians visited Geostat in the framework of cooperation project between National Statistics Office of Georgia and Statistics Sweden.
Swedish experts will work in two directions with Georgian colleagues during a week. One direction refers to the processing and analysis of data of local household tourism and surveys of foreign visitors. Swedish experts will share their experience to Georgian statisticians.
The meetings of the second group of Swedish experts refer to the confidentiality of statistical data and dissemination of micro data. Swedish experts will conduct a training course on data dissemination, statistical disclosure control and management issues in statistical institutes.
According to Maia Guntsadze, Deputy Executive Director of Geostat, with regard to data confidentiality and micro data dissemination, preparing a policy document and introducing a methodology is important in the process of producing, processing and disseminating statistical information.
In the framework of cooperation project between Statistics Sweden and National Statistics Office of Georgia, Statistics Sweden provides technical assistance to Geostat in improving quality of statistical data of inflation, gross domestic product, staff trainings, etc. The project is fully funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
