A two-day international seminar on Migration Statistics has been started today in Courtyard Marriott Tbilisi. 
The seminar is carried out by the support of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), National Statistics Office of Georgia, European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the United Nations Development Fund. The representatives of state agencies, who are involved in producing Migration Statistics data and forming migration policy, participate in the seminar. 
According to Meri Daushvili, the Executive Director of National Statistics Office of Georgia, such kind of meetings is very important. The main objective of the seminar is to be acquainted with leading international and European practice in the field of Migration Statistics and also the prospective integration of Geostat in calculating methodology of Migration Statistics.
