National Statistics office of Georgia continues strengthening the statistical system. In the framework of joint project with Geostat and Statistic Sweden, Swedish experts held the “short-term practical statistics course” for Geostat staff and employees of different agencies. The study course began on 21 May and will last two weeks. 
The study course covers practical as well as theoretical issues regarding the statistical sample survey. The main objective of the course is to introduce the statistical survey at all stage. (Survey planning, field works, present the report). Apart of it, the participants will conduct the survey themselves and will present the results. 
It should be noticed, that the similar course in the framework of cooperation project with the Central Bureau of Statistics Sweden is conducted for the third time. The first two stages of the course were held in 2015-2017. Geostat staff together with the employees of the various agencies take part in the study. 
The course will encourage awareness, methodology and standards of producing statistics in administrative bodies.
